<< back to press releases Strategic Receives 2003 Industry Appreciation Award Chamber of Commerce Honor Given for Outstanding Economic and Community Service DALLAS, Texas (April 18, 2003) - Strategic Equipment and Supply Corporation (Strategic), one of the nation's largest providers of equipment, services and supplies to the foodservice industry, was recently recognized in Georgia by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce at its 2003 Industry Appreciation Breakfast. The 10th annual event honored four companies for their outstanding commitment to the local economy and community. Strategic's Medley Division received the "2003 Industry Appreciation Award" for the service industry. According to Albany Area Chamber spokesperson Rachelle Bitterman, Strategic's Industry Appreciation Award was based on several factors, including "positive local economic impact, capital investment, employment level, payroll and growth." Strategic was also chosen for its corporate citizenship in the form of employee volunteerism, cash and in-kind charitable donations to the community as well as efforts to improve and correct local environmental challenges. Kevin Bruce, Strategic's CEO, responded, "We are honored to be acknowledged by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce because our employees not only take great pride in their work, but also in their communities." He added, "Strategic partners with clients to provide one-on-one service, and that dedication supports the local economy and community just as much as it benefits our customers." The award was presented on April 9th to David Campbell, Strategic's Medley Division President, and its Vice President, Reed Jackson. The division has been active in the Albany area for over 40 years.
